Welcome to My Blog
Welcome! I’m Joshua, and this is where I’ll be documenting my journey as a software engineer, finance student, and perpetual learner.
What to Expect
This blog will be a mix of:
- Technical posts - Deep dives into software engineering concepts, coding challenges, and project breakdowns
- Finance & Mathematics - Analysis, insights, and explorations in quantitative finance and mathematical concepts
- Learning in public - Documenting my wins, failures, and everything in between
- Project updates - Progress on personal projects and new experiments
Why Blog?
I’ve always believed that the best way to truly understand something is to try to explain it to others. Writing forces clarity of thought, and sharing knowledge helps build connections with others on similar journeys.
As a 4th-year student balancing a double degree in Software Engineering and Finance while working as an IT Analyst at NEXTGEN, I’m constantly learning new things. This blog is my way of:
- Solidifying my understanding through teaching
- Building a portfolio of my thought process and growth
- Connecting with others who share similar interests
- Creating a reference for my future self
Current Interests
Right now, I’m particularly interested in:
- Network engineering and infrastructure
- Quantitative finance and factor analysis
- iOS development (check out my GridCharge project!)
- Full-stack web development
- Mathematical modeling and analysis
Let’s Connect
If any of these topics resonate with you, or if you want to chat about technology, finance, or learning in general, feel free to reach out at me@joshuachelashaw.com.
Here’s to the journey ahead!
Cheers, Joshua
